"I love my Vestax VCI-300," continues Phatal, "it really is the ultimate controller. Together with my VCI-300 and Mac Lap top, I play sets all over the LA area and Vegas, and when I heard about the contest, I thought I'd give it a shot. The VCI-300 made it really easy to put together a demo video like the one I submitted for the contest."

Dubbed 'Phatal' in 1994 by his former mentor, DJ Rectangle, for his proverbial 'stabs and cuts' on the turntables, 'the Phatal DJ' has evolved from a hip-hop turntablist to an eclectic mixer. In addition to Club sets in the SoCal area, Phatal holds down residencies at Lucky Strikes in Los Angeles and Flamingo Pool in Vegas.

Somehow finding that 25th hour in each day, Phatal has also done considerable work on behalf of the music community at large. Working with the GRAMMY Foundation, Phatal helped create a music camp for talented high school students. While there, he utilized his DJ and promotional background to reach out to his network and provide the best possible experience for these students.
