This is a BIG venue light that covers a LOT of area. This is partly due to the barrel mirror's facets. If you group 4 of them and daisy chain the group together using the simple hand-held controller, you will have a big time looking show with plug-n-play simplicity.
The Insignia 2.0 is a huge improvement over the design of the original version that was released early in the 2000's. It's lighter by almost 50%, the optics are much brighter due to a re-designed lens & the gobo's have been updated. Perhaps the only drawback to this fixture is that it is no longer hardwired. The power cord supplied is a detachable euro-cord that can easily be lost or mis-placed if you are using this light in a mobile situation.
In my experience, the ELC-3 lamp that is supplied and shipped with the unit isn't nearly bright enough, so I suggest replacing the lamp with a much brighter ELC lamp. The "3" version is rated at lasting for 300 hours or more, and the original ELC version is only rated at about 100 hours lamp life, but it is way brighter. I still suggest using a heavy duty C-clamp for mounting instead of the lighter duty C-clamp or O-Clamp, and always use a safety cable if you are flying these lights over your head/equipment or especially over the heads of others.
